Staying Involved with Campus Crusade

Think back to the first time you visited Campus Crusade for Christ. Maybe you were a freshman looking for a way to get plugged into a Christian organization. Maybe a friend invited you and after reluctantly going, you felt as if you had found your home away from home.

Remember those crazy skits at the weekly meetings; the worship and sharing time at fall retreats; making friends through your Bible study; stepping out of your comfort zone to share your faith; or those hours spent on the bus or in the car traveling to Big Break or Christmas Conference?

You have tons of memories just like these tucked away from your college years. It’s all because somewhere along the way, you made the connection with Campus Crusade and were a part of what God was doing on your campus. Why not make the connection again?

There are several ways to become involved:

Pray – Pray for the 60 million college students of the world, those at universities close to you and those attending your alma mater.

Give – Contribute financially to what God is doing on college campuses across the world. Visit give.ccci.org to explore different ways that you can help.

Go – Help launch a ministry on a campus near you. Visit www.Godsquad.com to find various ministry tools and resources that will help you make an impact.

Alumni to Launch New Campus Ministry

Ministries at two campuses in Bakersfield, California will be opened this fall by an alumnus of the Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo movement. Brian Haddon graduated in 1998 from Cal Poly – SLO and then went to seminary in Portland where he met and married his wife. Last October, they moved back to his hometown of Bakersfield for the sole purpose of trying to reach the 20,000 students at the local colleges – Bakersfield College (2 year) and California State University, Bakersfield (4 year).

Brian got a job at a vegetable seed dealership and started pursuing others who shared his burden for reaching college students. They have been meeting every Tuesday night and have been prayer-walking the two campuses. They will give away 200 Freshman Survival Kits as the schools open and are planning a weekly meeting at the larger campus of CSU, Bakersfield. Brian and his wife offer a picture of what it looks like when ministry comes full circle.
